Job summary

HackerOne seeks a Senior Counsel to lead employment, litigation, and compliance with an ownership mindset. You will co-own outcomes with stakeholders and balance legal risk with rapid growth. This role reports to the Chief Legal Officer and supports the company’s mission to build a safer internet.

You will own corporate compliance programs, governance, ethics, workforce policies, and processes, and serve as a data-driven partner aligning legal guidance with business objectives.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school with active bar admission in good standing.
• 7+ years of legal experience in a law firm or in-house legal department.
• Experience advising on global labor and employment matters, compliance, employee relations, and investigations.
• Experience managing complex legal matters, including litigation or dispute resolution, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional advisory work.

Responsibilities

• Serve as trusted senior advisor to executives and cross-functional stakeholders on U.S. and global labor and employment matters.
• Advise People team on employee relations issues, compliance, investigations, and terminations.
• Coordinate with Commercial, Product, and Revenue teams to advise on platform legal risk.
• Manage dispute resolution, e-discovery, subpoenas, and regulatory investigations.
• Provide counsel on regulatory and compliance issues related to the platform, customers, and workforce.
• Act as AI-forward legal partner to identify opportunities to use AI in research and risk management.
