Job Description Summary

The Senior Commercial Counsel for Digital Technology/Information Technology (DT/IT) procurement provides ongoing legal advice and support to business leaders across GE Aerospace. This role can be remote within the US.

Job Description

The Senior Commercial Counsel for DT/IT procurement will serve as a key legal advisor within GE Aerospace, collaborating with cross-functional teams to draft, negotiate, and strategize on a variety of agreements, with an emphasis on digital technology procurement. The ideal candidate will have experience with technology agreements, data privacy laws, cybersecurity standards, and intellectual property issues.

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice related to digital technology agreements, including structuring, interpreting, and negotiating complex deals.
• Support purchasing activities supporting commercial or US government business, addressing disputes, and managing compliance issues.
• Collaborate with legal and business teams to manage risks and develop legal strategies.
• Oversee audits and implement risk mitigation strategies.
• Manage referrals to external counsel when necessary.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Member in good standing with the State Bar.
• At least 7 years of experience as a practicing attorney, primarily in technology law.
• Experience negotiating technology procurement agreements, including SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, hardware, and telecom agreements.
• Knowledge of global data privacy laws, cybersecurity standards, and intellectual property considerations.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
