Job summary

Rack Room Shoes, based in Charlotte, NC, seeks a Senior Commercial Counsel to join our in-house legal team. This role advises business leaders across Marketing, Technology, Digital, Supply Chain and Corporate Functions, delivering practical, business-focused legal solutions in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited institution with active bar membership.
• 7+ years of relevant legal experience (in-house and/or law firm).
• Proven expertise in commercial contract negotiation and drafting.
• Experience with privacy laws, DPAs, SaaS and cloud contracts.
• Strong organizational, negotiation and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead contract negotiations and provide strategic legal advice to cross-functional teams (Marketing, IT, Finance, Digital/Omnichannel).
• Draft, negotiate and manage a broad range of commercial agreements (SaaS licenses, tech services, vendor contracts, MSAs, marketing agreements).
• Develop templates, playbooks and standardized processes; drive workflows and issue resolution.
• Advise on privacy, data protection, AI governance, and regulatory compliance; educate business units on topical issues.
• Partner with IT and Omnichannel teams on technology development and implementation; support General Counsel.
