Job summary

TD seeks a Senior Counsel to provide oversight and strategic legal guidance to TD Bank’s management across Corporate Group Functions and Business Units. The role focuses on controlling litigation exposure, advising on consumer protection, fraud, and other regulatory matters, and supervising external counsel.

The ideal candidate will bring a J.D. from an accredited law school, 10+ years of experience in banking/financial services law, and strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and support TD Bank management on legal matters within Corporate Group Functions and Business Units.
• Manage litigation matters across the bank’s businesses and supervise external counsel.
• Identify, assess and mitigate legal and regulatory risks for consumer protection, fraud, and related topics.
• Provide high level legal advice and prepare memoranda, contracts, and litigation documents.
• Supervise budget reporting and advise lines of business on best practices to minimize legal risk.
