Job summary

BNY is seeking a Counsel for the Asset Servicing business to provide legal guidance and independent advice. The role is located in New York City, Lake Mary, FL or Pittsburgh, PA, and involves supporting Fund Services and related offerings across funds and asset classes.

The successful candidate will collaborate with diverse stakeholders, manage complex matters, and contribute to global legal strategies while developing expertise in Asset Servicing products and services.

Qualifications

• Law degree (J.D.) and active license to practice in NY, FL or PA.
• 7–10 years of relevant experience in financial services.
• Experience in Asset Servicing or Investment Management is preferred.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication; ability to explain issues in lay terms.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and drafting skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted internal legal advisor on significant business transactions and regulatory matters.
• Liaise with stakeholders to identify, escalate and mitigate material legal issues.
• Draft and negotiate a variety of service agreements with clients.
• Manage a broad portfolio of legal issues and drive projects to completion.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the organization to align solutions with global legal strategies.
• Partner with Risk, Audit, and Compliance functions where applicable.
• Develop a broad understanding of Asset Servicing products and services.
