Job summary

Verizon is seeking a Counsel to support AI Connect initiatives, advising on a wide range of technology, real estate, and partnership agreements. The role requires strong writing, negotiation, and leadership capabilities to operate across legal, technology, risk, and executive teams.

The position is hybrid, with a defined mix of in-office and remote work, and involves collaborating with stakeholders from staff to SVPs and EVPs. A JD and active bar admission are required.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Six or more years of experience as a practicing attorney, in law firm, tech company, or in-house.
• Hands-on experience negotiating and drafting technology and commercial transactions, leading matrixed teams.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Advisor: lead and collaborate to enable strategy, development, and deployment of Verizon’s AI Connect services.
• Complex Technology Transactions: structure, draft, negotiate, and advise on high-value tech, real estate, and partnership agreements.
• Commercial Governance & Operationalization: advise on processes and controls for commercial transactions.
• Regulatory & Policy Strategy: monitor and advise on AI regulations and policies.
• Reporting & Executive Insights: translate legal/regulatory trends into actionable reports and leadership updates.
• Cross-Functional Risk Management: partner across Legal, Tech, Risk, Security, and Sourcing.
• Compliance Training & Business Enablement: create guidance and playbooks for AI commercialization.
• Transaction Tracking & Management: track and manage active AI Connect transactions.
