Publicis Re:Sources, Chicago, seeks a Senior Counsel to provide strategic, hands-on legal support to its advertising, creative and production agencies.

You will draft and negotiate a wide range of agreements, review marketing materials for compliance, conduct trademark searches, and advise management on legal risks. The role emphasizes proactive guidance, training, and efficiency in legal services.

Qualifications

• JD degree from an ABA accredited law school.
• 6+ years of relevant experience (with 2+ years at a law firm).
• Must be licensed to practice, and be in good standing, in Illinois or New York.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on marketing and advertising law including substantiation, trademark clearance, copyright, rights of privacy and publicity, user-generated content and social media matters
• Draft, review and negotiate a wide variety of contracts, including client-agency, supplier/media owner, sponsorship, talent, music, production, technology, confidentiality, and intellectual property licenses and agreements
• Review marketing materials to ensure compliance with Federal and State laws, rules and regulations, as well as adherence to industry best practices
• Conduct preliminary trademark searches and review full trademark searches
• Educate, advise, and counsel management on legal issues affecting business decisions
• Provide periodic training to business units on key legal issues affecting operations
• Provide day-to-day legal support to the business teams
• Standardize templates, processes and legal guidance where possible to improve efficiency of legal services to business units
