Job summary

Publicis Re:Sources, the shared services arm of Publicis Groupe, seeks a Senior Counsel to provide strategic, hands-on legal support to its advertising, creative and production agencies in Illinois or New York.

You will draft and negotiate client-agency contracts, review marketing materials for compliance, and educate management on legal issues impacting business decisions. A JD and 6+ years of experience with IL or NY license are required.

Qualifications

• JD degree from an ABA accredited law school.
• 6+ years of relevant experience (with 2+ years at a law firm).
• Must be licensed to practice, and in good standing, in Illinois or New York.

Overview

Publicis Re:Sources is seeking a Senior Counsel to provide strategic, hands-on legal support to its advertising, creative and production agencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on an ongoing basis in areas of marketing and advertising law including, but not limited to, claim substantiation, trademark clearance, copyright, rights of privacy and publicity, user-generated content and social media matters
• Draft, review and negotiate a wide variety of contracts, including client-agency, supplier/media owner, sponsorship, talent, music, production, technology, confidentiality, and intellectual property licenses and agreements
• Review marketing materials to ensure compliance with Federal and State laws, rules and regulations, as well as adherence to industry best practices
• Conduct preliminary trademark searches and review full trademark searches
• Educate, advise, and counsel management on legal issues affecting business decisions
• Provide periodic training to business units on key legal issues affecting operations

• Provide day-to-day legal support to the business teams

• Standardize templates, processes and legal guidance where possible to improve efficiency of legal services to business units

Qualifications

• JD degree from an ABA accredited law school
• 6+ years of relevant experience (with 2+ years at a law firm)
• Must be licensed to practice, and be in good standing, in Illinois or New York

Additional information

The expected salary range for this role is $190,000-205,000. We are committed to offering competitive compensation, and the final salary will be based on the selected candidate's experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the position.
