Step into a pivotal role with a growing practice where you'll handle sophisticated commercial real estate transactions from end to end. This is a direct-hire opportunity for an attorney who wants to be the trusted legal partner to developers, investors, and owners across all major asset classes.

About the Role

You will serve as a key transactional attorney handling complex commercial real estate matters, from initial structuring through closing. Working closely with developers and other stakeholders, you will manage retail development projects, acquisitions, dispositions, and financings, ensuring deals are efficiently executed and risk is effectively managed.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, leases, and related real estate contracts across office, retail, industrial, and mixed‑use asset classes.
• Lead and manage all legal aspects of retail development projects, including site control, development agreements, and project‑related contracts.
• Handle entitlement work, including zoning, land use approvals, and coordination with local authorities and consultants.
• Oversee and conduct due diligence, including title, survey, environmental, and land use review, and prepare related analyses and reports.
• Negotiate title insurance coverage, resolve title and survey issues, and coordinate with title companies and surveyors.
• Structure, negotiate, and close commercial acquisitions and dispositions, coordinating with internal and external parties to drive transactions to completion.
• Negotiate and close real estate financing transactions, including loan documents, security instruments, and related collateral documentation.
• Coordinate transaction timelines, manage closing checklists, and supervise the preparation and organization of closing deliverables.

Key Requirements

• Significant experience as a commercial real estate attorney in a law firm or in‑house setting, with a strong transactional focus.
• Proven track record drafting and negotiating complex real estate contracts, leases, and development agreements.
• Hands‑on experience managing retail development projects from a legal perspective.
• Demonstrated expertise in entitlement and land use matters, including zoning and permitting.
• Strong background in commercial acquisitions, dispositions, and related due diligence.
• Experience negotiating and closing real estate financing transactions with lenders and financial institutions.
• Excellent negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
