Job summary

Abbott, a global healthcare leader, seeks an experienced accounting professional in Irving, TX. You will own fixed assets, CIP, inventory, and cost accounting, ensuring accurate reporting and SOX compliance.

The role involves month‑end close, reconciliations, and cross‑functional collaboration to drive process improvements. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in accounting or finance, 5+ years’ experience, and strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, Tableau, and ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Good analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Deep knowledge of costing, inventory, and reconciliation processes.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, SOX compliance, and internal controls.
• Advanced data analytics and systems proficiency (Excel, Tableau, ERP applications).

Responsibilities

• Lead fixed assets, CIP, inventory, and cost accounting processes, including asset lifecycle management.
• Manage capital project and CIP accounting by tracking actuals, accruals, and classifications.
• Support month‑end close activities with journal entries, accruals, reclasses, and cost allocations.
• Maintain data integrity within Oracle/ERP systems and ensure proper system interactions.
• Oversee inventory accounting and controls, including cycle counts and ABC analysis.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations for key accounts.
• Ensure accuracy of standard costing, cost rollups, and transfer pricing coordination.
• Strengthen internal controls and SOX compliance across accounting processes.
• Partner with operations, finance, and audit teams to drive issue resolution and process improvements.
