Role Description

The Senior Cost Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Corsicana, TX, responsible for overseeing project cost planning, monitoring, and reporting for mission-critical construction and retrofit projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and maintaining detailed cost estimates, tracking expenditures against budgets, and performing variance analyses to support informed decision-making. The role involves implementing cost control procedures, validating contractor and vendor proposals, and preparing regular cost reports and forecasts for internal stakeholders and clients. The Senior Cost Engineer will collaborate closely with project managers, schedulers, procurement teams, and design professionals to align cost, scope, and schedule and to mitigate financial risk. This position also contributes to continuous improvement of cost engineering processes, tools, and benchmarks across the organization.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Cost Engineering and Cost Management, with demonstrated experience overseeing complex construction or infrastructure projects.
• Advanced Cost Control and Budgeting skills, including development of baseline budgets, change management, and cost forecasting.
• Excellent Analytical Skills, with the ability to interpret financial data, perform variance analyses, and present clear recommendations to stakeholders.
• Proficiency with cost management and project controls software (e.g., Excel, cost databases, ERP or project management tools) and strong numeracy skills.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related discipline; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CCP, CMA) is an advantage.
• Experience in mission-critical facilities such as data centers, healthcare facilities, or industrial plants is highly beneficial.
• Ability to communicate complex cost information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences and to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple cost workstreams while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced project environment.
