Job summary

Decima International is seeking a highly experienced Senior Cost Engineer - Cost Control and Reporting to support practical construction cost management on large-scale data center and mission-critical projects. The role requires hands-on cost work, testing assumptions, and communicating cost exposure clearly to teams and leadership.

The ideal candidate will review contracts, pay apps, forecasts, and contingency plans, while maintaining rigorous cost logs and reporting.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in cost engineering, cost control, project controls, or related roles.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Engineering Management, or related field.
• Hands-on cost engineering execution experience, not only high-level management oversight.
• Experience with large, complex programs (infrastructure, EPC, or data center).
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, EAC, variance analysis, and cash flow.
• Proficiency in reviewing pay apps, invoices, SVs, and cost backup documentation.

Responsibilities

• Review pay applications, invoices, cost submissions for accuracy and contract compliance.
• Evaluate Schedule of Values for front-loading and risk exposure.
• Assess change orders and cost proposals for pricing reasonableness and schedule impact.
• Maintain and validate cost reports, logs, and forecast models.
• Build and validate Estimate at Completion forecasts and contingency drawdown.
• Prepare cash flow forecasts and reconcile spending with actuals and commitments.
• Identify variances and communicate risks and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Support monthly reporting with cost narratives, risk summaries, and variance analysis.
• Coordinate with project teams to validate data and resolve discrepancies.
• Support closeout activities including final pay applications and retention release.
