Job summary

AES Corporation in Colorado is seeking a Project Cost Control Analyst to support the financial execution of capital projects across development and construction. You will track budgets, analyze variances, and maintain financial controls using SAP Investment Management and SAP Funds Management.

You will collaborate with project managers, developers, and finance leadership to ensure cost transparency and on-time delivery, using Power BI dashboards and SAP enhancements to improve data accuracy and

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or related field.
2–4 years of experience in FP&A, Cost Control, or Business Intelligence, preferably in energy or infrastructure.
Proficiency in SAP Investment Management and SAP Funds Management modules preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel user.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

Partner with project managers to publish and maintain project budgets and forecasts.
Monitor and report on capital expenditures (CapEx) and operational expenditures (OpEx) against approved budgets.
Perform monthly variance analysis and provide insights on cost drivers and trends.
Support budget reallocation, budget increases, and contingency drawdown requests with internal controls.
Maintain and reconcile project data in SAP within CBS/WBS.
Assist in monthly and quarterly close processes, including accruals and reporting.
Collaborate with Accounting & AP to improve data accuracy and reporting processes.
Contribute to continuous improvement of cost control processes and tools, including Power BI dashboards and SAP enhancements.
