Job summary

The AES Corporation, a leading US-based power company, is seeking a Project Cost Control Analyst to support financial execution of capital projects using SAP Investment Management and Funds Management. You will collaborate with project managers, developers, and finance leadership to ensure cost transparency and budgets are kept on track.

Ideal candidates have 2–4 years in FP&A or cost control, strong analytics, and advanced Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or related field.
• 2-4 years of FP&A, Cost Control, or Business Intelligence experience.
• Proficiency in SAP Investment Management and SAP Funds Management modules preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel user.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Partner with project managers to publish and maintain project budgets and forecasts.
• Monitor and report on CapEx and OpEx against budgets.
• Perform monthly variance analysis and provide insights on cost drivers and trends.
• Support budget reallocation, budget increase, and contingency drawdown requests while ensuring internal controls.
• Maintain and reconcile project data in SAP within CBS/WBS.
• Assist in monthly/quarterly close processes, including accruals and reporting.
• Collaborate with Accounting & AP to improve data accuracy and reporting processes.
• Contribute to cost control process and tool improvements, including Power BI and SAP enhancements.
