Job Title: Sr. Cost Analyst – Oil & Gas (Houston, TX)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Cost Analyst to support our Exploration and Subsurface teams. The role focuses on cost tracking, budgeting, and financial reporting for upstream oil & gas projects.

Key Responsibilities

Track and manage costs for international and domestic exploration assets.
Prepare monthly forecasts and annual budgets with managers.
Process and monitor accruals in SAP.
Perform variance analysis (actual vs. budget) and provide insights.
Manage KPIs and build cost reports/dashboards.
Collaborate with finance, drilling, procurement, and subsurface teams.
Support financial audits and ad-hoc analysis.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or Business.
Minimum 3 years’ cost analysis experience in Oil & Gas (Exploration, Drilling, or Subsurface).
Strong skills in SAP and MS Excel.
Experience with forecasting, budgeting, accruals, and variance analysis.
Excellent communication skills to work with technical and finance teams.

Preferred

Experience with Hyperion or other financial databases.
Knowledge of PowerBI, Tableau, or Spotfire.
Joint Venture / Cash Call accounting exposure.
