Job summary

Top Echelon Software, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Cost Accountant to lead project accounting and develop labor-based absorption rates supporting pricing, billing, and margin analysis. This role also supports financial reporting, general ledger activities, and month-end closing to maintain accurate financial records and insights across multiple projects.

The position requires strong GAAP knowledge, a Bachelor's in Accounting, and 3–5 years of related experience, with ERP and Microsoft

Qualifications

• ERP systems experience; Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
• Strong GL accounting and financial reporting knowledge.
• Experience in project/job/service-based cost accounting.
• GAAP knowledge.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and periodically update absorption rates for labor burden and consumables.
• Perform project accounting, cost tracking, unbilled revenue accruals, and profitability reporting.
• Analyze pay rate vs. bill rate spreads and gross margin by customer/project; report findings.
• Reconcile timekeeping, payroll, and billing data to ensure accurate labor costs.
• Work with operations to review cost centers, expense coding, and allocations.
• Support monthly close for multiple entities, including GL maintenance.
• Prepare documentation for external auditors and interact with banks/insurers as needed.
• Assist with financial analysis, system changes, and process improvements.
