Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting seeks a Senior Accountant – Manufacturing Operations for a well‑established manufacturing facility. You will own plant-level cost accounting, lead the month‑end close, and drive standard costing and variance analysis to support cost reduction and margin improvements.

Reporting to the Plant Controller, you will partner with operations, production, and supply chain teams to develop budgets, forecasts, and KPIs, while mentoring junior team members in a collaborative,

Qualifications

3–5 years progressive accounting experience with GAAP and month-end close.
Experience in manufacturing finance or strong GL close background is preferred.
ERP and reporting tools familiarity is beneficial.

Responsibilities

Own month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities with journal entries and reconciliations.
Maintain product cost accuracy in a standard cost environment; validate BOMs, routings, labor and overhead rates.
Analyze manufacturing variances (PPV, labor efficiency, overhead), present root cause findings.
Collaborate with plant leadership to build budgets, forecasts, and S&OP inputs.
Monitor inventory valuation and support cycle counts and reserve analysis.
Develop KPIs for real-time operational and financial visibility; mentor junior staff.
