Insight Global is hiring a Cost Accountant for a manufacturing client in Portland, Tennessee. During the first 30 days, the Cost Accountant will focus on learning the ERP system and building strong working relationships across departments within the facility. This role is responsible for processing invoices, distributing daily and recurring reports, monitoring the general ledger for discrepancies, and managing the forecasting process based on key performance indicators, including investigating and explaining unexpected variances. The Cost Accountant will have ownership of plant assets and inventory, complete balance sheet reconciliations, and prepare weekly and monthly financial reports, including sales summary reporting. The role also includes tracking and reporting quality-related costs by maintaining a monthly customer deduction and quality cost tracker. From a costing perspective, the Cost Accountant will partner closely with the materials group to ensure quarterly, biannual, and annual cost updates related to materials, labor, and overhead are accurately reflected in inventory. This individual will manage the overall cost structure and provide monthly cost updates with detailed variance analysis.
