Job summary

Insight Global in Portland, Tennessee is seeking a Cost Accountant in a manufacturing setting. The role focuses on learning the ERP, processing invoices, and building strong cross-department relationships.

You will own cost structuring, perform balance sheet reconciliations, and prepare weekly/monthly financial reports and KPI-based forecasts. The candidate should have a Bachelor’s in Accounting, 5+ years cost/accounting experience in manufacturing, and strong Excel skills (Pivot, VLOOKUP).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
• 5+ years of accounting experience with emphasis on GL exposure, P&L, balance sheet.
• Manufacturing experience.
• 1+ year of cost accounting.
• Excel-heavy skills with pivots and VLOOKUP.
• Ability to interface with other departments and communicate clearly.
• On-site Monday-Friday.

Responsibilities

• Process invoices and distribute daily/recurring reports.
• Monitor the general ledger for discrepancies and perform balance sheet reconciliations.
• Lead forecasting processes based on KPIs and variance explanations.
• Own plant assets and inventory management.
• Prepare weekly/monthly financial reports and sales summaries.
• Track and report quality-related costs with monthly deduction/quality trackers.
• Coordinate cost updates for materials, labor, and overhead with Materials group.
• Provide monthly cost updates with variance analysis.
