Staff Financial Group in the Atlanta metro area is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to support multiple manufacturing operations. This role focuses on improving costing accuracy, strengthening inventory controls, and delivering insights into manufacturing performance.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in standard costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis, with a proactive approach to improving cost accounting processes across a multi-site environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 2+ years standard costing experience in manufacturing.
• 2+ years experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong inventory and cost accounting knowledge.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with a large ERP system; Oracle preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain standard costs and analyze variances.
• Perform month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Prepare inventory valuations, cost analyses, and reports.
• Collaborate with finance and operations to improve costing and controls.

Senior Cost Accountant
Location: Atlanta Metro Area | Hybrid, 3 Days Onsite

A well-established, growing manufacturing organization is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to support multiple manufacturing operations. This highly visible position partners closely with finance and operations leadership to improve costing accuracy, strengthen inventory controls, and provide insight into manufacturing performance.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in standard costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis, along with a proactive approach to improving cost accounting processes in a multi-site manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain standard costs, support inventory accounting, and analyze manufacturing variances.
• Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Prepare inventory valuations, financial reports, and cost analyses to support business decisions.
• Partner with finance and operations teams to improve costing accuracy and strengthen internal controls.
• Use ERP reporting and Excel to analyze data, streamline workflows, and improve cost accounting processes.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• At least 2 years of standard costing experience and 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of inventory accounting and cost accounting principles.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with a large ERP system required; Oracle preferred.
