Job summary
Western Alliance Bank is seeking a Staff Engineer II - Database Engineering in Dallas to lead Azure Cosmos DB design, administration, and governance for AI workloads. You will act as the technical authority on Cosmos DB usage, partner with cloud and application teams, and ensure enterprise security, resilience, and audit readiness.
The role requires 7+ years in IT, a related Bachelor's degree, and strong leadership capabilities to manage cross-functional projects across pipeline and platform
Qualifications
- 7+ years of related experience in IT App Support, IT Development, IT Networking, or a similar field.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
- Strong leadership experience and ability to manage cross-functional teams.
- Advanced knowledge of banking regulations and industry standards.
- Experience with Azure Cosmos DB and cloud-native database services is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design, administer, and support Azure Cosmos DB for AI program workloads.
- Serve as technical authority for Cosmos DB usage across AI workloads.
- Establish secure access patterns and enterprise-compliant governance.
- Collaborate with application and cloud engineering teams to ensure reliability and security.
- Develop operating models for Cosmos DB support and document procedures.
