Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Azure Cosmos DB Developer to design, implement, and support large-scale, mission-critical applications running on Cosmos DB in Azure. You will balance architecture work with hands-on production support, focusing on high availability, throughput, and performance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering and database development experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on Azure Cosmos DB experience in production environments.
• Strong experience with Cosmos DB data modeling and partitioning strategies.
• Query optimization and performance tuning.
• Throughput management (RU/s optimization).
• Indexing policies and change feed processing.
• Multi-region deployment and global distribution.
• High availability and disaster recovery patterns.

• Experience with .NET and/or Java-based apps.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize Azure Cosmos DB solutions for high-volume workloads.
• Define and implement data modeling strategies, partition key design, indexing policies, and data lifecycle management.
• Architect highly available, resilient, and scalable solutions leveraging Cosmos DB best practices.
• Monitor RU consumption, throughput, latency, and overall database performance.
• Troubleshoot production issues, investigate bottlenecks, and implement fixes.
• Support deployments, schema evolution, capacity planning, and incident resolution.
• Partner with application, infrastructure, and architecture teams for Azure service integration.
• Establish disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity strategies.
• Create runbooks, documentation, and engineering standards.

We are looking for someone who can serve as the team's Cosmos DB subject matter expert, providing both strategic architectural guidance and hands-on support for production environments. The candidate should have demonstrated success designing scalable, resilient solutions while also helping development teams optimize performance, reliability, and operational excellence.

We are seeking an experienced Azure Cosmos DB Developer with deep expertise in designing, implementing, and supporting large-scale, mission-critical applications running on Azure Cosmos DB. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building highly available, high-throughput, always-on solutions and be comfortable balancing architecture responsibilities with day-to-day operational support and performance optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize Azure Cosmos DB solutions for high-volume transactional workloads.
• Define and implement data modeling strategies, partition key design, indexing policies, and data lifecycle management.
• Architect highly available, resilient, and scalable solutions leveraging Cosmos DB best practices.
• Monitor and optimize RU consumption, throughput, latency, and overall database performance.
• Troubleshoot production issues, investigate performance bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions.
• Support day-to-day operational activities including deployments, schema evolution, capacity planning, and incident resolution.
• Partner with application, infrastructure, and architecture teams to ensure optimal integration with Azure services.
• Establish disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity strategies.
• Create operational runbooks, documentation, and engineering standards.
• Provide recommendations on cost optimization, scalability, and long-term platform improvements.
