Job summary

Intertek seeks a Senior Corrosion Engineer to lead materials selection, corrosion control, and integrity assurance across EPC stages of energy projects. The role oversees design, specs, and procurement to meet codes and client standards, ensuring safe, reliable operation with corrosion resistance throughout the asset lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering, Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering.
• Master’s degree in Corrosion Engineering is an advantage.
• Minimum 5 years combined EPC + operational experience in corrosion engineering; 10 years combined experience for Senior level.

Responsibilities

• Develop documentation related to Corrosion Control (Manuals, Philosophies) and Materials Selection (Guidelines, Diagrams).
• Perform Corrosion Risk Assessments for all process systems.
• Define piping Corrosion Loops and Circuits, Corrosion Allowances, Design Life Criteria, and Material Classes.
• Review and approve documentation (PIDs, PFDs, UFDs, Coating specifications, CP specifications).
• Provide input to RBI studies and inspection strategies, including Integrity Operating Windows development and degradation mechanisms assignment.
• Ensuring compliance with Client standards and international codes.
• Provide technical support for welding issues, material substitutions, coating failures, CP installation.
• Support pre-commissioning and commissioning teams on chemical injection, flushing & cleaning, passivation and preservation.
