Job summary

ORBIS Inc. is seeking a seasoned Corrosion Control Senior Engineering Technician to join NSWCPD Department 20 operations. The role emphasizes inspection, CP system maintenance, coatings assessment, and regulatory compliance in support of Navy vessels and infrastructure.

The candidate will analyze corrosion data, prepare technical reports, and provide guidance to field crews. A secret clearance is required, with 5 years of relevant Navy corrosion control experience.

Qualifications

• Five years of corrosion prevention and control experience on Navy hulls and coatings.
• Experience with regulatory frameworks including NESHAP, EPA, OSHA and VOC handling.
• Familiarity with corrosion control field surveys and NACE/AMPP standards.
• Ability to analyze inspection data and prepare technical reports for teams.
• Ability to provide technical guidance and training to junior technicians.

Responsibilities

• Conduct corrosion inspections on pipelines, vessels, and structures using NDT methods.
• Evaluate and maintain CP systems to prevent electrochemical corrosion.
• Inspect protective coatings for integrity and recommend repairs.
• Advise on material selection and design changes to reduce corrosion risk.
• Compile data, corrosion rates, and environmental factors for reports.
