Job summary

ORBIS, a trusted government contractor, seeks a NACE-certified Corrosion Control Senior Engineering Technician for NSWCPD Department 20. The role covers corrosion inspection, CP systems, protective coatings, materials selection, data analysis, and regulatory compliance for Navy and military vessels.

Responsibilities include field surveys, report writing, and mentoring junior technicians while ensuring adherence to NACE/AMPP, API, OSHA and related standards. U.S.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of experience in prevention and control of corrosion on Navy ships.
• Five (5) years of experience with Clean Air Act, NESHAP, EPA, OSHA, ASTM 718F, VOC compliance.
• Five (5) years of experience conducting surveys of underwater hull, topside, interior, and decks to evaluate corrosion control systems.
• Two (2) years of experience with corrosion control policy guidance at NAVSEA level.

Responsibilities

• Perform corrosion inspections of pipelines, vessels, structures and equipment using NDT methods.
• Evaluate and maintain CP systems (impressed current and galvanic).
• Inspect and assess protective coatings for integrity and adhesion.
• Advise on corrosion-resistant materials and design modifications.
• Compile inspection data and prepare technical reports for engineering teams.
