Job summary

Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) seeks a Senior Correctional Substance Abuse Counselor to deliver evidence-based counseling to inmates and participate in transition planning. You will conduct assessments, craft treatment plans, and maintain documentation in compliance with professional standards.

Requirements include a master’s in psychology or counseling and licensure eligibility in Arizona, with ability to travel on state business.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in psychology, counseling or related field.
• Current or eligible state licensure for addiction counseling.
• Experience delivering individual and group counseling in corrections.

Responsibilities

• Provide substance abuse counseling to inmates/offenders in group and individual sessions.
• Conduct clinical assessments and develop treatment plans.
• Coordinate pre-release planning with case managers and community providers.
• Maintain accurate documentation and statistical data per policy.
• Travel on state business as required.
