Job summary

Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) seeks a Substance Abuse Counselor at ASPC Tucson to assess and treat offenders with substance use issues. You will deliver education classes, conduct assessments, maintain records, and coordinate pre-release planning with case managers.

Responsibilities include individual and group counseling, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with community providers and security staff while working in a secure correctional setting.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed in Arizona as LIAC, LAAC, LPC, LAC, LCSW, LMSW or Psychologist.
• Employment contingent on a background investigation and a drug test.
• Ability to work in a secure correctional environment.

Responsibilities

• Conducts substance abuse education classes and therapy groups for inmates.
• Conducts one-on-one clinical assessments and counseling sessions.
• Maintains clinical records and documentation.
• Develops individualized treatment plans with participants.
• Coordinates pre-release planning with case managers.
• Interacts with community providers and security staff.
• Travels on state business as required.
• Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment.
