Job summary

LaSalle Corrections is seeking a detailed and experienced Lieutenant to manage on-site security operations at Rolling Plains Detention Center in Haskell, TX. The role requires overseeing inmates, detainees, and staff, ensuring safety, discipline, and compliance with post orders.

Responsibilities include supervising daily security routines, handling incidents, preparing reports, and coordinating with officers.

Qualifications

• At least three years of experience in a correctional institution.
• 5 years of experience in a correctional setting and 1-year supervisory experience preferred.
• TCOLE certification or ability to obtain Jailers License where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Organize and conduct inspections and searches of inmates, detainees, and offenders and their living/work areas.
• Prepare records and reports as assigned.
• Maintain logs and verify inmate counts.
• Foster a team effort among correctional officers providing support, motivation, training, and assistance.
• Report and investigate all unusual occurrences.
• Direct the work of employees to ensure effectiveness.
• Supervise daily routine of the security section.
• Enforce post orders and ensure shift assignments are understood.
• Handle disciplinary reports and prepare reports of disturbances and shift activities.
• Function as shift supervisor as needed; schedule staff and inmates; assist in procedures.
