Job summary

LaSalle Corrections seeks an on-site Maintenance/Repair Technician at Rolling Plains Detention Center in Haskell, TX. The role performs general repairs, routine maintenance, and safety-related tasks to maintain facility operations and inmate welfare.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and the ability to work after hours, weekends, and holidays. HVAC experience and a valid driver's license are preferred. Comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
• Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work after hours, over weekends and on public holidays with short or no notice.

Responsibilities

• Inspects and identifies areas, equipment, or machines in need of repair.
• Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.
• Plans repair work using the building's blueprints or equipment manual as needed.
• Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician.
• Performs routine maintenance on building systems.
• Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
• Ensures prompt and appropriate assistance to inmates in the event of injury, illness, and emotional trauma.
• Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
