Job summary

The State of North Carolina is seeking a Correctional Sergeant III (S) to supervise and coordinate teams at a multi-custody facility. You will oversee officer activities, assign posts, and ensure custody and safety of offenders while maintaining shift coverage and adherence to procedures.

Candidates should have a HS diploma or GED with relevant correctional experience and be eligible for State CJ certifications.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and three years of experience as a Correctional Officer, or two years as a Correctional Officer III; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be eligible for certification by the NC Criminal Justice Education and Training and Standards Commission.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line supervision to Correctional Officer IIIs in a close-custody institution.

• Arrange work schedules, implement procedures, and ensure policy compliance.
• Perform other duties as needed.
