Job summary

The NC Department of Adult Correction is seeking a Correctional Programs Director II (NS) for Foothills Correctional Institution in Morganton, NC. This role oversees education, treatment and rehabilitation programs for inmates, supervises staff, and ensures compliance with agency policies, safety standards, and audits.

Qualifications

• Salary Grade Range: $47,703.00 - $83,479.00.
• Applicants must meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.
• The KSAs/Management Preferences are not required; preferred skills are documented knowledge of inmate systems and policies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee inmate education, treatment, and rehabilitation programs.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate program staff.
• Ensure programs comply with agency policies, laws, and safety standards.
• Develop and improve programs to support inmate rehabilitation and successful reentry.
• Manage program budgets, resources, and daily operations.
• Monitor program performance and prepare reports on outcomes.
• Coordinate with security, medical, mental health, and community partners.
• Ensure inmates have access to appropriate programs based on their needs.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare for audits and inspections.
• Support a safe, secure, and effective correctional environment while promoting positive inmate outcomes.
