Job summary

State of Connecticut seeks a Board-Certified Physician to lead medical care across the Department of Correction facilities. You will supervise teams, oversee clinical care, and drive health initiatives within the Health Services Unit.

Responsibilities include rounds, care coordination, and QA/QI activities, with a first-shift schedule at multiple CT sites. A CT medical license and board certification are required, with training for hazardous duty as applicable.

Qualifications

• Must hold a license to practice medicine in Connecticut (temporary license may be granted).
• Board certification in a specialty such as internal medicine or related field preferred.
• Experience in correctional health care is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour medical supervision and direct care oversight.
• Lead multi-disciplinary treatment teams and coordinate with nursing/administrative staff.
• Review medical records and treatment plans for compliance with standards.
• Develop QA/QI initiatives and participate in policy discussions.
• Perform rounds and supervise on-call coverage as required.
