Job summary

CoreCivic is seeking a Physician to provide professional medical direction and direct patient care in a correctional facility. The role includes clinical rounds, admissions decisions, and leadership of the medical program in collaboration with the Health Services Supervisor.

The successful candidate will perform diverse medical services, oversee care standards, and participate in treatment planning while maintaining strict confidentiality of medical records and complying with applicable policies.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of medicine.
• Must be licensed to practice medicine in the state of employment.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Provide a variety of professional medical services to inmates/residents, including examinations, diagnoses, prescriptions and follow-up care.
• Provide direction in leadership for the medical program in collaboration with the Health Services Supervisor.
• Monitor and review operations and standards of care delivered to inmates/residents.
• Interview inmates/residents and make decisions on admissions.
• Direct unit treatment operations and participate in treatment team meetings.
