The role requires a medical degree, DE license, DEA registration, and strong teamwork with staff. Responsibilities include supervising clinicians, on‑call duties, and policy oversight to maintain quality care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical school.
• Fully licensed to practice in Delaware.
• Current DEA registration.
• Board certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and medical oversight within the correctional facility.
• Supervise clinical services delivered by staff and ensure on‑call coverage.
• Annually review clinical protocols, policies and procedures.
• Manage referrals to outside facilities for quality and continuity of care.
• Sponsor Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners in line with state law.
• Maintain thorough documentation in patient records and ensure accuracy.
