FedEx Freight, Inc. in Memphis, TN (or Harrison, AR) seeks a leader to manage a professional pilot staff in the company aviation department, ensuring safety and compliance with FAR Part 91, FOM, and SOPs, with PIC duties on assigned flights.

This role collaborates with MD-Corporate Aviation for recruitment, onboarding, and upgrading PIC, maintains the EFB program, and requires top credentials and an ability to work irregular hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aviation or equivalent corporate aviation experience.
• Airline transport pilot certificate with multi-engine & instrument rating (without limitations).
• CL30 type rating.
• FAA first class medical certificate (obtained within the preceding 12 months).
• Valid U.S. passport with no travel restrictions.
• FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
• Flight time: Corporate/business aviation experience required.
• 3000 hours total fixed-wing, 1500 hours multi-engine aircraft.
• 1000 hours PIC turbine/turboprop.
• Clean FAA record (no certificate actions, accidents, or incidents).
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, drug screening, and any company-required security clearance.
• Flexible schedule availability and willingness to work irregular hours, weekends, holidays, and overnight trips.
• Professional appearance, strong interpersonal skills, and discretion.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of pilots in the company aviation department, across bases.
• Ensure flight operations comply with FAR Part 91, the FOM, and SOPs.
• Serve as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) on assigned flights.
• Coordinate daily with scheduler and maintenance for crew capability and aircraft availability.
• Approve and maintain the FOM, SOPs, checklists and standardization materials.
• Approve pilot expense reports.
• Ensure license, medical and training records are maintained.
• Collaborate with MD-Corporate Aviation to recruit, interview and select pilots.
• Lead pilot onboarding and PIC upgrade objectives.
• Assist with development/maintenance of the Electronic Flight Bag program.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
