Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Intermediate Architect / Technical Designer for Corporate Interiors in New York. The role leads technical delivery from survey through construction closeout, coordinating with clients, landlords, consultants, and internal teams in a fast-paced studio environment.

You will conduct surveys, perform code analyses, develop complete construction documents, and manage submittals, RFIs, and site observations. Hybrid schedule in NYC with client-facing responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of continuous experience in corporate workplace, commercial interiors, or retail banking interior environments.
• Proven ability to independently develop complete, coordinated construction document packages.
• Expert-level proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for architectural drafting and construction documentation.
• Strong knowledge of NYC Building Code, NYC Zoning, and related code requirements.
• Experience with egress reviews, fixture count calculations, and path-of-travel compliance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed field surveys and accurately document existing conditions for corporate workplace and commercial interior projects.
• Perform comprehensive building code reviews including egress analysis and accessibility requirements.
• Produce budget scope drawings and technical specifications to support planning and cost estimating.
• Coordinate technical design with internal teams and external consultants.
• Develop complete construction document packages including plans, elevations, sections, and details.
• Review redlines and maintain drawing quality throughout project lifecycle.
• Issue drawing packages for pricing, permitting, and construction; respond to bidder inquiries.
• Participate in weekly project meetings and provide technical updates.
• Manage RFIs, bulletins, addenda, and shop drawings; ensure compliance with design intent.
• Conduct site observations and document field conditions; approve layouts.
• Lead punch list efforts and prepare closeout documentation.
• Collaborate with clients, landlords, consultants, and contractors to move projects forward.
