Job summary

Northwest Bank in Chicago seeks a Corporate Finance Analyst/Associate/Senior Associate to underwrite complex large corporate and middle market relationships. You will perform in-depth qualitative and quantitative analyses and design credit structures in line with the Bank's risk appetite.

You will prepare loan syndication materials, review financial statements, monitor portfolio risk, and work with Relationship Managers on underwriting, due diligence, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or other business-related field preferred.
• 5-6 years of Credit Underwriting in the Corporate Finance sector preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed credit memorandum for complex lending relationships
• Complete comprehensive analysis on client financial statements
• Recommend proper loan structure, including covenant formulas and definitions
• Identify credit strengths, weaknesses, risks and mitigating factors
• Determine the required scope for underwriting and due diligence based on client risk profile
• Participate in joint calls with Relationship Managers
• Maintain knowledge of macroeconomic factors affecting national and global markets
• Identify and track loan and credit policy exceptions
• Monitor ongoing risk in the portfolio and recommend proactive action
• Prepare reviews for relationships within the portfolio
• Recommend and defend appropriate risk ratings
• Review and negotiate legal documentation with outside bank counsel
• Develop financial statement forecasts and enterprise valuations
• Ensure compliance with Northwest's policies and Federal/State regulations
• Navigate Microsoft Office and department software to maximize efficiency
• Work as part of a team
• Work with on-site equipment
