Job summary

Marqeta, Inc. is seeking an Assistant General Counsel, Corporate to join the Corporate Legal team in a senior capacity on SEC reporting and governance matters.

You will own key SEC workstreams, draft proxy materials, and support the Board and committees, translating complex obligations into actionable guidance for a fast-moving executive team. You’ll operate as the right hand to the Deputy General Counsel, collaborating with Finance, IR, and outside counsel, and coordinating governance processes

Qualifications

• J.D. degree with active U.S. state bar admission (CA or NY preferred).
• 10–15 years of legal experience with a focus on public company securities, governance, and SEC disclosures.
• Substantial hands-on experience drafting SEC filings (proxy statements, 10-Ks/10-Qs/8-Ks).
• Experience supporting a public company board and committees, including materials and minutes.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive quarterly/annual SEC reporting cycles (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K) in partnership with Finance and outside counsel.
• Draft, coordinate, and oversee the annual proxy statement and related shareholder materials.
• Oversee Form 8-K filings for material events and coordinate Section 16 reporting (Forms 4, 144).
• Support the Disclosure Committee with cross-functional review and governance disclosures.
