Job summary

J.Sheppard Associates in Northern New Jersey seeks an accomplished Corporate Counsel or Junior Partner with 7+ years of sophisticated corporate and transactional experience to help lead the expansion of its Corporate and Business Law Practice.

The ideal candidate will structure, negotiate, and manage transactions from inception through closing, supervise junior attorneys, and develop ongoing client relationships.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of sophisticated corporate and transactional experience.
• Experience structuring, negotiating, and managing corporate transactions from inception through closing.
• Ability to supervise junior attorneys and develop client relationships.
• New Jersey Bar admission is required; New York Bar admission is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead significant corporate transactions and advise business owners on complex matters.
• Serve as trusted advisor to an expanding client base and collaborate with firm leadership.
• Cultivate and originate business, contributing to practice development.
• Provide mentorship and supervision to junior attorneys within the team.
