Job summary

Kiddie Academy is seeking a Deputy General Counsel to lead the legal department and support corporate operations and growth. The role interacts with executive leadership across the organization and external franchisees to address complex legal issues in a growing franchise system.

The position is based at the Corporate Office in Abingdon, MD with a hybrid work arrangement (80% in-office, 20% remote) and began planning for January 2027 start.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school is required.
• Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Approximately 6–8 years of progressive legal experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication with stakeholders.
• Experience supervising and developing associate attorneys.

Responsibilities

• Lead the legal function and manage the Company’s legal affairs.
• Provide practical, business-focused legal guidance to support operations and growth.
• Oversee day-to-day management and development of the Legal Department.
