Job summary

Meritum Energy Holdings seeks a Senior Corporate Counsel to support MEH brands across multiple states. You will draft master service agreements, transportation and energy contracts, and oversee auto/general liability and workers' compensation matters.

In collaboration with Risk, Safety, and Operations, you will mitigate legal risk, manage outside counsel, and steer settlements and strategy, reporting to the CEO as needed.

Qualifications

• J.D. with active Texas license and 5–8 years in commercial contracts and litigation, energy/transport focus preferred.
• Experience drafting MSAs, transportation and energy/service contracts; familiarity with TOAIA valued.
• Ability to manage outside counsel, set budgets, and supervise litigation risk.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate MSAs and energy/service contracts across MEH brands.
• Manage auto/general liability and workers' comp claims; direct outside counsel and TPAs.
• Coordinate with Risk, Safety, and Operations to reduce exposure and costs.
• Provide legal guidance to Operations, Fleet, and Finance on day-to-day issues.
• Lead contract governance, renewals, amendments, and templates.
