Job summary

H&P Executive Search is assisting a publicly traded, multi-billion-dollar infrastructure services company in Houston to hire a Senior/Corporate Counsel to lead complex transactions, including EPC, Design-Build, CMAR, and MSA contracts.

The role offers ownership of customer relationships and regional practice areas, with a merit-driven culture and the chance to influence project execution, supplier negotiations, and potential disputes; 5–10 years of transactional experience required.

Qualifications

• J.D. from ABA-accredited law school and active license to practice law.
• 5-10 years of transactional/commercial legal experience, including direct customer negotiation.
• M&A deal background welcome - no prior EPC or construction experience required.
• Litigation backgrounds considered with relevant EPC exposure.
• Strong academic and firm pedigree preferred.
• Experience negotiating joint venture agreements a plus.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all levels of an organization.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with customers, including EPC, Design-Build, CMAR, and MSA agreements
• Support Commercial Development, Supply Chain/Procurement, and Operations teams on negotiations with joint venture partners, subcontractors, and vendors
• Provide contract support and advise on issues during project execution, including change orders
• Assist with potential claims, litigation, and regulatory investigations
• Travel to company locations, project sites, and negotiations as required
