Qualifications

  • J.D. from ABA-accredited law school and active license to practice law.
  • 5-10 years of transactional/commercial legal experience, including direct customer negotiation.
  • M&A deal background welcome - no prior EPC or construction experience required.
  • Litigation backgrounds considered with relevant EPC exposure.
  • Strong academic and firm pedigree preferred.
  • Experience negotiating joint venture agreements a plus.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all levels of an organization.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with customers, including EPC, Design-Build, CMAR, and MSA agreements
  • Support Commercial Development, Supply Chain/Procurement, and Operations teams on negotiations with joint venture partners, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Provide contract support and advise on issues during project execution, including change orders
  • Assist with potential claims, litigation, and regulatory investigations
  • Travel to company locations, project sites, and negotiations as required

Job description:

A publicly traded, multi-billion-dollar infrastructure services company delivering EPC solutions across the electric power, power generation, and energy infrastructure sectors is looking for a Contracts Counsel to join its legal team.

This role sits within a stable, low-attrition, merit-driven group with a clear growth path - reporting lines are based on capability rather than seniority, and there is real opportunity to take ownership of customer relationships, regions, or practice areas as the group continues to scale.

What you'll do:
