Job summary

AMD's Law Department seeks a motivated attorney to support the Graphics & Engineering business unit, advising on hardware, software, and AI development, licensing, IP, and open-source matters. The role involves working with Chief Software Office, product teams, and stakeholders to manage risk and ensure policy compliance.

Requirements include a JD and U.S. licensure, strong communication, and experience in IP, licensing, and AI governance.

Qualifications

JD degree and admission to practice law in a U.S. state.
Experience in intellectual property, technology licensing, and open-source counseling.
Experience with AI laws and governance including global frameworks.

Responsibilities

Draft, review, and negotiate inbound/outbound software licenses, technology, and IP agreements.
Counsel engineering clients on contract terms, software, compliance, AI solutions, and dispute resolution.
Advise on open-source software use and compliance with policies and code scanning.
Provide guidance on product development and legal risk management.
Partner with internal stakeholders to negotiate and coordinate key transactions.
Develop and deliver internal training on legal, software, and compliance matters.
Monitor emerging legal and regulatory issues affecting datacenter, AI, semiconductor, hardware, and software products.
