Roche is seeking a Senior Corporate Counsel to act as a strategic legal partner for the global Digital & Privacy team. You will guide data privacy, AI, and software commercialization, drafting complex IT licenses and R&D agreements and leading legal coordination on digital projects.

You will work with Roche Information Solutions and other Roche divisions, shaping policies and training teams worldwide. A multinational background and travel readiness are valued as part of Roche's global mission.

Qualifications

• Experience in digital, AI, IT, and IP law, with contract drafting and negotiation.
• Strong ability to translate complex technical topics like AI and cloud solutions into legal guidance.
• Experience in a multinational corporate environment and collaboration across functions.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice to RIS on data privacy, AI, and software commercialization.
• Draft and negotiate complex IT licenses, R&D agreements, and strategic partnerships with data security and AI considerations.
• Lead legal coordination for digital and IT projects ensuring compliance with global privacy and cybersecurity standards.
• Develop and implement data privacy policies for Roche Diagnostics in collaboration with senior leadership.
• Educate and train global teams on IT law and AI regulations.
• Support the broader DDP Legal Function and help set group-wide standards for digital health.

The Position

Join us as a Senior Corporate Counsel and act as a strategic legal partner to our global team of digital experts in Roche Information Solutions (RIS) and beyond. You will be part of a global network of legal professionals and will also collaborate closely with other legal teams across Roche Diagnostics and Roche Pharma on overarching projects and topics in the field of Data, Digital and Privacy, with a strong focus on AI. In this role, you will provide high-impact legal guidance, helping to build a sustainable digital health business through innovative data-driven solutions. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment where you can constructively challenge the status quo and collaborate with a global network of legal professionals in the Legal Data, Digital & Privacy (DDP) function.

The Opportunity

• Provide expert legal advice to RIS on all legal matters including data privacy, AI, and software commercialization.
• Draft and negotiate complex agreements, including IT licenses, R&D, and strategic partnerships involving intricate data security and AI questions.
• Lead legal coordination for digital and IT projects, ensuring compliance with global data privacy and cybersecurity standards.
• Develop and implement legal strategies and data privacy policies for Roche Diagnostics businesses in collaboration with senior leadership.
• Educate and train global teams on emerging legal topics, including IT law and AI regulations.
• Support the broader DDP Legal Function as an active member, influencing group-wide legal standards for digital health.

Who You Are

You are a proactive legal professional with a strong affinity for information technology and the ability to translate complex technical issues, such as AI and cloud solutions, into sound legal advice. You possess strong business acumen, are results-oriented, and enjoy working across cultures in a multinational environment. On top of that, you bring the following qualifications:

• A University Law degree and bar admission to practice law in your relevant jurisdiction.
• A Minimum of 5 years of experience within a multinational legal department and/or an international law firm.
• Expertise in digital, AI, IT, and IP law, including contract drafting and negotiation.
• Expert knowledge of US data privacy matters including HIPAA, CCPA, and IT laws (Good knowledge of EU data privacy is a plus).
• A Collaborative mindset and a willingness to travel abroad to support our global mission.

Location & Salary

This position is based in Indianapolis. Relocation benefits are not available for this position.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Indiana is $146,300 to $271,700. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
