Job summary

IFG US in the Chicago area is partnering with a middle market financial services company to hire a Senior Corporate Controller. You will lead a team of 3 direct and 8-10 indirect reports across corporate accounting, AR/AP, and payroll, ensuring accurate month-end close and strong internal controls.

The role reports to the Corporate CFO, involves budgeting/forecasting, MSR valuation, debt reporting, and liaison with auditors and regulators. Hybrid model—3 days in the office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 10+ years in senior accounting roles within mortgage servicing or financial services.
• Controller-level experience with demonstrated people and team leadership.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, MSR valuation, investor reporting requirements, audits, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with mortgage servicing platforms and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting, payroll, accounts payable, and financial reporting for all entities.
• Ensure timely month-end close and accurate financial reporting.
• Manage cash flow and intercompany reconciliations.
• Maintain internal controls and coordinate audits.
• Liaise with auditors, regulators, lenders and valuation firms.
• Lead MSR valuation, budgeting and forecasting.
• Monitor debt reporting and lender covenant compliance.
• Review contracts for asset ownership and financial recognition.
• Develop the team through coaching and performance management.
• Drive process improvements and policy development.
