Job summary

HawkEye 360 in Herndon, VA, seeks a Corporate Controller to lead day-to-day accounting, government contractor compliance, and monthly closes for HawkEye 360 and its subsidiaries. You will oversee GL, payroll, A/P, billing, and financial reporting, while modernizing systems and ensuring controls.

Reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer, you will guide a multi-location team (Herndon and Dallas) and partner with executive leadership on SEC matters, audits, and strategic initiatives, delivering

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Active CPA license strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience.
• Experience in defense/government contracting is preferred.
• Public company experience is preferred.
• ERP implementation experience, especially Deltek Costpoint.
• Strong integrity and judgment in regulated environments.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.
• Ability to lead multi-location teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operational accounting, including general ledger, month-end close, and reconciliations.
• Manage transaction processing including A/P, billing, and payroll.
• Ensure timely and accurate monthly financial reporting and analysis (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, project summaries).
• Develop and maintain accounting processes, policies, and internal controls; ensure balance sheet integrity.
• Serve as accounting lead for quarterly SEC reporting and annual external audits.
• Own critical accounting areas including revenue, cost structures, payroll, and contract accounting.
• Provide leadership for significant transactions and cross-functional projects.
• Maintain tax compliance calendars and coordinate filings with external providers.
