Job summary

NorthStar Energy LLC is seeking an accomplished accounting leader to head the company’s accounting and shared services, reporting to the CFO. You will supervise general ledger, AP, AR, credit, tax, and inventory for NorthStar and operating companies, ensuring accurate reporting and policy compliance.

This onsite role is based in Seattle, with in-office work Monday through Thursday and remote Fridays. Candidates should have extensive GAAP knowledge and a track record of building strong teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; 10+ years in public or corporate accounting with progression.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and attention to detail; ERP systems experience; PDI Enterprise preferred.
• Experience with commodity accounting, derivatives and hedge accounting; understanding of mark-to-market accounting.
• Experience with acquisitions, purchase accounting and post-close integration.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• Proven leadership, mentoring and ability to build high-performing accounting teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly close and consolidation for NorthStar and shared services.
• Direct shared services accounting: credit, collections, billing, cash applications, AP, taxes, inventory, fixed assets.
• Oversee annual audit process and financial statement prep.
• Implement and monitor internal controls per Saltchuk policies.
• Drive productivity and develop accounting and shared services staff.
• Develop and execute an accounting and shared services process-improvement roadmap.
• Provide leadership on accounting policy development and implementation.
• Manage all NorthStar company bank accounts and treasury services.
• Support M&A activities including quality of earnings reviews and post-acquisition integration.
• Oversee goodwill process and annual valuation.
• Lead and mentor the team reflecting NorthStar values; fulfill other duties as assigned.
