SDL Search Partners in Boston is seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant to join a growing private-equity environment. You will manage financial reporting, month-end close, and AP oversight while driving process improvements and supporting system implementations.

The role partners with the Controller and CFO on special projects and investment accounting analysis, with growth opportunities toward managerial roles as the team expands.

Qualifications

• BS in Accounting required; CPA progression a plus.
• 2–5 years in corporate accounting or 2+ years in public accounting.
• Private equity, real estate or investment accounting experience is a plus.
• Growth-minded with ability to influence senior leadership.
• Strong process-improvement experience and system aptitude.
• Excellent communication skills; capable of supporting C-suite.
• Advanced Excel skills; Ramp and Sage experience are a plus.

Job description

Well-established, boutique, private-equity firm headquartered in Boston has a newly-created opening for a Senior Corporate Accountant.

Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this role will be highly varied, handing some traditional accounting (financial reporting, month-end close, AP oversight), but will also drive process improvements, support the Controller & CFO on special projects related to streamlining the accounting function, implementing new systems and automating process where possible.

The ideal candidate is a 2 - 5 year accounting professional with some hands-on experience in corporate accounting, or 2+ years spent in public accounting. The ideal candidate is motivated, creative, self-directed, able to support senior leadership and influence and work directly with the C-Suite and external key stakeholders.

The Senior Accountant will also support investment finance / accounting activities, provide analytical support for investment transactions and work with broader investment teams to provide financial analysis.

Requirements:

• BS, Accounting
• CPA, or progress towards, a plus, but not required
• 2 - 5 years of corporate accounting, public accounting, accounts payble or a mix of public and corporate accounting experience
• Prior private equity, real estate or investment accounting experience is a plus
• Growth-minded, interested in finding a company and growing with the organization long-term
• Strong process improvement experience - interested in projects related to improving efficiencies and optimizing the broader accounting function
• Excellent communication skills - able to influence and support senior leadership
• Advanced system skills, prior experience with Ramp, Sage, and Advanced Excel are a plus but not required
