Job summary

8am is seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant in Austin, TX to own timely financial reporting and GAAP compliance. You’ll lead the external audit, draft memos, and partner with FP&A, auditors, and lenders while exploring how AI can streamline processes.

You’ll bring 6+ years of accounting experience, a Bachelor’s in accounting or finance (CPA a plus), strong Excel and Workday skills, and a collaborative, fast-paced mindset. This role offers hybrid work in Austin.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of accounting experience, mix of public and industry preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA is a plus.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and experience researching technical accounting questions.
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with system integrations and Workday.

Responsibilities

• Lead the yearly external audit, managing PBC requests and footnotes.
• Research complex accounting issues and draft memos and internal policies.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and consolidate results.
• Deliver lender reporting and covenant compliance on schedule.
• Collaborate with FP&A to explain P&L variances and improve processes.
